Sylvester Ray, Jr.
Mr. Sylvester Ray, Jr., son of Willie Ann Bell and the late Sylvester Ray, Sr., was born on January 1, 1958. Mr. Ray departed this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Sylvester attended Horace Sisk Junior High School and Terry Sanford High School. He joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church several years ago and was currently attending Holy House of God in Christ.
“June,” as he was known, was well liked by all who met him. He will truly be missed throughout the city of Fayetteville. His trade of brick masonry will be a “stone at home.”
Mr. Wylvester Ray, Jr. leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Melissa Griffith Ray; mother, Ms. Willie Ann Bell of Hope Mills, North Carolina; five brothers, Mr. Antonio Ray, Michael Bell of Fayetteville, North Carolina Terrance (Tangie) Bell of San Antonio, Texas, Clarence Bell and James Bell of St. Pauls, North Carolina; two sisters, Robin Ray Royster of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Belinda Hart of Clinton, North Carolina; seven aunts; one great aunt, Ms. Mary Jane Ford of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; a close friend, Harriett “Shorty.”
